Record meetings as audio only

Store conference meetings in Jiminny as audio only, while keeping transcripts and AI analysis.

Record Audio Only stores your conference meetings in Jiminny as audio only, without video or screen shares. Anything shown on screen, such as customer data, internal systems or pricing, is not stored in Jiminny, so it cannot be watched back there. The audio is recorded as usual, so every meeting still gets its transcript and AI analysis.

The setting works with both recording methods, Invisible Recording and Notetaker joins the meeting, and with the Zoom Native Integration.

How it works

Record Audio Only is an organisation-wide setting. Two optional filters let you limit it to specific teams and meeting types.

  1. Go to Settings > Recording > Conference.

  2. At the bottom of the page, turn on Record Audio Only. It is off by default.

  3. To limit the setting, select the teams or meeting types in the two fields below it and select Apply. Leave both fields empty to apply the setting to all teams and all meetings.

  • Apply To Teams — meetings are recorded as audio only when the recording owner belongs to one of the selected teams. Meetings owned by users in other teams continue to be recorded with video.

  • Apply To Meetings — choose External meetings, Internal meetings, or both. A meeting is internal when everyone in the meeting belongs to one of your internal domains, for example a meeting between colleagues. If at least one person is from outside those domains, such as a customer or prospect, the meeting is external. To add or change your internal domains, see Managing domains.

When you use both fields, a meeting is recorded as audio only when it matches both. Record Audio Only does not decide whether a meeting is recorded at all; that is controlled by Automatically Record Meetings and Record Internal Meetings, described in Recording guide and settings.

To stop recording as audio only, turn the setting off. Meetings that were already recorded are not affected.

Note: Changes take effect immediately, except for scheduled meetings using the Notetaker. The Notetaker is usually created around 15 minutes before the meeting, so changes made after that may not apply to that meeting.

What to expect from audio-only recordings

The meeting page shows the audio player instead of video. Everything else works as usual, such as transcripts, AI analysis, sharing and downloads.

Note: For meetings recorded with the Notetaker, Live Coaching is unchanged and the coach can still see video during the meeting. Only the stored recording is affected.

FAQ

1. Can a rep turn video back on for one meeting?

No. Record Audio Only is an organisation setting, and users cannot change it for their own meetings.

2. Can I get the video back for a meeting recorded as audio only?

No. No video is recorded, so there is nothing to restore.

3. Why was a meeting recorded with video when the setting was on?

It did not match your Apply To Teams or Apply To Meetings selection. Check the recording owner's team and whether the meeting included anyone from outside your internal domains.

4. Do recording consent and compliance settings still apply?

Yes. Consent emails, notifications and compliance rules work exactly as before. Record Audio Only changes only what is stored.

5. Does this setting affect dialler calls?

No. It applies to conference meetings only. Dialler calls are always audio only.
