Easily Download and Save Your Jiminny Recordings Anywhere

Jiminny allows you to export and snippet your calls to send out to anyone, but sometimes you need the file to save, store, or share.

How to Download a Recording

In a recorded meeting or call in Playback, click the last icon (More) and select Download.

How Does It Work?

  1. When you click Download, the file will automatically download to the Downloads folder on your device. You won’t need to name or select a location manually.

  2. If the recording contains both audio and video, it will be saved in the format received from the platform on which it was recorded. This file can usually be played with VLC Player or converted to an MP4 file.

  3. If the recording is audio only, it will be saved in the format received from the dialler (commonly WAV). This file can also be played with VLC Player or converted to MP3 if needed.

Editing Your Recordings

To edit a recording, you will need to download a video editor that supports the file format of your recording.

  1. Downloading an Editor: Programs such as VLC Player (for basic cropping and conversions), DaVinci Resolve, or Adobe Premiere Pro (for more advanced editing) can be used. Many recordings are saved in MKV format, which most modern editors support.

  2. Cropping to Timestamps: Once your recording is in the editor, you can crop the file to the exact timestamps you need. Simply load the file into the timeline, find the start and end points of the section you want to keep, and cut the rest. Export the edited version as an MP4 or another format.

  3. Converting Formats: If you need the recording in a different format (e.g., from MKV to MP4), most editors have an option to export in a different format. Alternatively, you can use VLC Player or online converters to easily switch between formats.

Who Can Download Calls?

Downloading recordings is dependent on your organisation's settings. If you are unable to download a recording, contact your admin to ensure you have the appropriate permissions.
