CRM Task Creation

How Jiminny turns action items from customer calls into tasks in Salesforce and HubSpot — setup, task rules and FAQs.

Jiminny can turn the action items from your customer calls into tasks in Salesforce or HubSpot — assigned to the right person, with a due date and a link back to the call. You can also send the same tasks to other tools through Zapier or our API. This article explains how to switch it on, how tasks are created, and what to expect.

Before you start

  • Your Salesforce or HubSpot integration must be connected to create tasks in your CRM.

  • Tasks are only created from customer-facing calls — internal meetings are always skipped.

  • Tasks are only created for users who have CRM access.

Turning on task creation

  1. Go to Settings → CRM Task Creation (under AI Automation).

  2. Find the team and open its settings.

  3. Switch on Create tasks automatically.

  4. Choose the Source — meetings, dialer calls, or both.

  5. Optionally, set the Output language. By default, tasks are created in the language of the call — select a language only if you want every task written in that language instead.

  6. Select Save changes.

How tasks are created

After a call, Jiminny reviews the action items and creates a task for each clear commitment made by someone on your team — for example "I'll send you the updated pricing by Friday".

Each task includes:

  • A specific subject — for example "Send Malcolm revised pricing with the EU hosting option".

  • A due date — the date agreed on the call. If no deadline was mentioned, Jiminny sets one (2 days for sending something, 1 week otherwise) and says so in the task description.

  • A short description — the commitment, any context needed to act on it, and a link to the call in Jiminny.

Many dialer calls produce no tasks at all — that is expected when no clear commitments were made.

Where tasks appear in your CRM

Salesforce

Tasks are assigned to the team member who made the commitment. Each task is related to the matched Opportunity (or the Account if there is no open Opportunity) and to the primary external Contact or Lead. Status and priority follow your organisation's default values.

HubSpot

Tasks are assigned to the team member who made the commitment and are associated with the matched deal, contact and company. Tasks are created as to-dos with Not started status and High (if their due data is in the next 48 hours) or Medium priority.

Sending tasks to other tools

If your team manages work outside the CRM — for example in Planhat, ClickUp, Trello or Asana — you can send the tasks Jiminny creates to those tools instead:

  • Zapier — use a webhook trigger to send each task to thousands of apps. See Zapier Webhook Integration for how to set up the connection.

  • API — build your own integration and receive the task details directly.

Each task carries the same details as a CRM task — subject, due date, owner, description and the link to the call — so you can map them to whichever fields your tool uses.

FAQ

1. Why did a call not create any tasks?

Most likely no clear, forward-looking commitment was made by your team on the call. Short calls, voicemails and gatekeeper conversations usually produce none — this is by design.

2. Can Jiminny create tasks in tools other than Salesforce and HubSpot?

Yes — send tasks to other tools through Zapier or our API. See the "Sending tasks to other tools" section above.

3. Can my customer see these tasks?

No. Tasks are internal records in your CRM or task tool, visible only to your team.

4. Can I edit or delete a task Jiminny created?

Yes. Once created, the task is a normal record in your CRM or task tool — you can reassign, edit, complete or delete it like any other.
