Microphone permission required
The first time you make a call, Chrome shows a microphone permission pop-up asking whether to allow access to your microphone.
If you:
clicked Block, or
clicked Allow this time, or
closed the pop-up without choosing,
Chrome will not allow microphone access for future calls, and the call cannot start until this is fixed.
Troubleshooting your microphone
We couldn’t access your microphone, so the call couldn’t start. This usually happens for one of the reasons below. Please follow the steps to fix it, then try again.
1. Check that your microphone is allowed in the browser
If microphone access is blocked, we won’t be able to start the call.
Open Google Chrome
In the address bar, go to:
3. Make sure:
Microphone access is turned ON for https://ext.jiminny.com/
The correct microphone is selected from the dropdown menu
Our extension is not blocked in the list of apps and sites below
If the microphone was blocked, changing it to Allow and reloading usually fixes the issue immediately.
2. Make sure the correct microphone is selected
Your computer may have multiple microphones (built-in mic, headset, webcam mic).
Open your computer’s Sound / Audio settings
Make sure the microphone you want to use is:
Connected
Not muted
Set as the default input device
If you’re using a headset, try unplugging it and plugging it back in.
3. Close other apps that may be using your microphone
Only one application can sometimes use the microphone at a time.
Please close apps such as:
Zoom
Microsoft Teams
Google Meet
Screen recorders or voice recording tools
Then refresh the page and try again.
4. If you’re using a headset or Bluetooth device
Disconnect and reconnect the device
Make sure it is fully connected before starting the call
Avoid switching audio devices while starting the call
5. Try refreshing the page or restarting your browser
If everything looks correct but it still doesn’t work:
Refresh the page
Or fully close and reopen your browser
Still having trouble?
If the issue continues:
Try a different microphone or headset
Restart your computer if the microphone appears unavailable
Once microphone access is restored, return to the extension and try starting the call again.
