How to Use Jiminny Deal Insights with HubSpot When You Do Not Use Companies

In certain scenarios, such as B2C (business-to-consumer) operations or when selling directly to individuals, companies might not be utilised in HubSpot. Instead, you may rely solely on deals and contacts. To ensure Jiminny's Deal Insights functionality operates correctly, specific criteria must be met for deals to be pulled across:

  1. Deal Owner: The deal must have a deal owner who is a Jiminny user.

  2. Close Date/Created Date: The deal must have a close or created date.

  3. Associated Company: The deal must have a company associated with it.

If your CRM does not use the “Close Date” field for deals, you can toggle this setting off. When turned off, Jiminny will automatically filter deals using the “Created Date” instead.

If your deals do not meet these minimum requirements, they will not be pulled into Deal Insights.

Workaround for Non-Company Deals

For users who do not use companies within HubSpot, there is a workaround to enable Deal Insights. This involves a change within HubSpot to automatically create and associate companies with contacts. This approach is particularly useful for our B2C customers who want to leverage Deal Insights to gain AI insights into their deals.

Steps to Automatically Create and Associate Companies with Contacts

  1. Navigate to HubSpot Settings: Go to your HubSpot account settings.

  2. Enable Automatic Company Association: Follow the instructions in this HubSpot Knowledge Article.

    HubSpot can automatically associate contacts with companies by matching the domain in a contact's Email value to the company's Company domain name value. For example, a contact with the email address "sandra@example.com" will be associated with the company that has the Company domain name "example.com."

  3. HubSpot Admin Activation: This feature should only be enabled by a HubSpot admin. Once enabled, this setting will allow Deal Insights to function correctly by ensuring that all necessary associations are in place.
