Salesforce recently enhanced the security model for Connected Apps. These changes, effective September 2025, affect Jiminny’s Salesforce integration. Without admin action, users may be unable to connect Jiminny and will see errors such as:

  • OAUTH_APP_BLOCKED

  • OAUTH_APPROVAL_ERROR_GENERIC

To prevent disruption, Salesforce Administrators should review and approve the Jiminny Connected App ahead of time.

Steps for Salesforce Admins

  1. Install the Jiminny Connected App

    1. Navigate to Setup → Connected Apps OAuth Usage

    2. Locate Jiminny in the list

    3. Under Actions, click Install

  2. (Optional) Restrict Access to Specific Users or Profiles

    1. Navigate to Setup → Manage Connected Apps

    2. Locate Jiminny and click Edit

    3. Under OAuth Policies, set Permitted Users to “Admin approved users are pre-authorized.”

    4. Use Connected App Access to select the profiles or permission sets allowed to connect Jiminny.

  3. Special Case: Orgs with API Access Control

If your org has API Access Control enabled and you don’t install or pre-authorize Jiminny, users will need the Use Any API Client permission to connect.

We strongly suggest installing and pre-authorizing the app as described above. This provides tighter control, fewer permissions to manage, and a more seamless user experience.
