Note: This article applies to organizations using Federated Identification such as ADFS

Some organizations may choose to control the use of enterprise applications in Office 365 by restricting the ability for users to consent to third-party multi-tenant applications accessing user profile data in Azure Active Directory. Jiminny depends on this data to verify access, and synchronize your meetings via calendars.Ā

The default Azure AD configuration allows user consent out-of-the-box, but this can be restricted fromĀ Azure Active Directory > User Settings in the Azure Administration portal.Ā

If application consent is restricted, users (with the exception of Office 365 Global Administrators) will not be able to sign-in to Jiminny. The following error message will appear:

"Jiminny needs permission to access resources in your organization that only an admin can grant. Please ask an admin to grant permission to this app before you can use it."

Resolution

The service requires explicit permissions to access your users calendars to sync meetings. One of the following steps should achieve this.
Our preferred option will give access to all users and require no further interaction:
  • Visit the Microsoft consent page in your browser and follow the instructions.Ā
  • You will be asked to login to your Microsoft 365 domain with an Administrative account. The account will need roles that can grant permissions to:
    • Have full access to user calendars
    • Sign in and read user profile
    • Read and write user calendars
    • Read user profiles
  • If successful, you will be redirected to the Jiminny application.

2. [Optional] Assign users/groups explicit access to Jiminny

  • Navigate to Azure Admin Settings > Azure Active Directory > Enterprise Applications > All Applications > Jiminny
You may require the Application ID: 3bcad3f8-39bc-495b-b118-04d692e0bb31
  • Select Users and Groups > Add User/Group.
  • Add your Jiminny users, following this guide from Microsoft if required.
After completing these steps, non-admin users should be able to access the Jiminny application.
